New Tennis Coach takes the Court

Jon Lopez graduated from Texas Tech University and taught for six years in Gainesville before coming to Krum High School. This is his 10th year teaching, and he’s currently the Head Tennis Coach and teaches Audio Video Production. During high school, Mr. Lopez was involved in tennis, football, soccer, and basketball. He has taught Science, Tech Apps, Photography and AV Production. “I love them all because I am passionate about science/technology and I love creating art,” Lopez said. Mr. Lopez has a wife named Jennifer Lopez and a two year old son named Grayson. He also has a sister who is 28 years old. Outside of school he enjoys a variety of things. “I enjoy my family, collect nerdy things (ex: retro video games), playing sports," Lopez said. One of the hardest things about teaching for Mr. Lopez is not being able to get some students to share his passion for the subject he is teaching. "I try my hardest to bring out the creativity of each student," Lopez said. Sophomore Alyssa Farmer says “I enjoy Mr. Lopez’s class because he’s a really good teacher and he interacts with the students to help us learn.”
