KHS Welcomes New Administrator

KHS has a new Assistant Principal this year as Mr. Bernard Lightfoot joins the team from Sam Houston High School in Arlington.

Bernard Lightfoot is a very cultured individual who has experienced many different parts of the world. Lightfoot grew up in a military home that required him to move all around the world. He has lived in 5 different countries including Iceland, Japan, and the United States.

In the United States. Lightfoot lived in Hawaii, California, Texas, and Mississippi. All 4 years of high school Lightfoot went to different schools.

Although he moved from place to place, Lightfoot kept up with sports and was a member of National Honor Society.

Lightfoot’s role model is Jack Tatum. Tatum was more famously known as “The Assassin” because of his playing style and his hard tackles as Safety for the Oakland Raiders and Houston Oilers. The impact he made in the football community changed the way the game was played forever.

Lightfoot looks up to Tatum because of the major impact he made in football. Lightfoot wants to make an impact in his community by giving kids the education to have the opportunity he had.

Lightfoot has a passion for both teaching and learning. He absorbs all Mrs. Pieniazek has to say. He wants to start this school year off right and he is excited to give students the opportunity to have a good education.

Before Lightfoot came to Krum, he was an economics teacher, as well as a soccer coach and a football pass game defensive coordinator.

Lightfoot’s experience while playing football and running track at West Point allowed him to excel in coaching and learn the correct skills to coach.

Mr. Lightfoot and his wife, Kim, have two sons and a daughter. Bryson and Bernie are attending Krum Middle School, while Brooke is a student at Dodd Intermediate.
