Shelby Woods: 2 Sports Scholar

Shelby Woods plays basketball and volleyball, and she likes volunteering through our school organizations. She reveals that she's not too worried about the future. Activities Involved in at KHS -Varsity Girls Basketball, FCCLA, NHS, and Varsity Volleyball. Outside Activities -Member of the Student Leadership team and youth worship team at First Baptist of Denton, I like volunteering though our school organizations to help people, I love to nap, and also eating is my favorite past time. Favorite Book -The Bible or Percy Jackson. (I know they are extremely different but I don’t care) Favorite TV Show -Liv and Maddie definitely Most Prized Possession -My relationship with Jesus Christ. 3 things I have with me at all times -My cell phone, a hair band, and at least $1. What was your favorite childhood toy? -A cute little pink stuffed piggy. It was the bomb, and we were best friends. Favorite Quote: “ Dude, Jesus wept. Strongest guy I know.” -Remedy Applegate What would people be surprised to know about you? -I am actually super insecure and even the littlest reaction from someone can tear me apart. Luckily I find my worth in Jesus Christ and I am slowly getting more confident. Who is your favorite teacher and why? -My favorite teacher is Coach Orsi because she truly cares about us. She doesn’t only care about our grades, but making sure that we learn and have fun doing it. What have you learned at KHS that has made a difference in your life? -I have learned that studying is not fun but it is a necessity. What has been your greatest challenge in high school? -Balancing all of my outside of school activities with my homework and sleep. What are your future plans? -I don’t have any future plans. I’ll probably go to college but I’m not stressing it, it’ll buff out.. What is your advice for Freshmen? -My advice for freshmen would probably be to just chill out and take it slow. You don’t have to be popular or do what everyone else does to be truly “cool” or important. Everyone is different and perfectly beautiful in their own way, so why would you want to cover that up by acting like someone that you aren’t? Be yourself and don’t find your self-worth in grades, boyfriends/girlfriends, or the “cool kids”. Your worth is found in Jesus and He loves you and thinks that you’re super rad! Who is your hero and why? -My hero is Jesus Christ. He is the only person that has ever died to cover up all of the mistakes that I have made. He lived a perfect life and took on the punishment of the entire world just because He loved us enough to do so! He is beautiful and wonderful and the best person EVER!!
