Drumline Competes

The Krum High School Drumline went to their first competition of the year on Saturday, September 24. The 19 members of the Drumline practice three times a week for anywhere from one to ten hours each day. They first got their music in July, and they have been practicing ever since. In order to compete, the Drumline took a long trip to Plano. The KHS percussion section was one of the first groups to perform. “I feel like we did good, although i think we could have done a lot better,” said Freshman Drummer, Sierra Langworthy. They spent the entire day watching other drumlines perform to kind of get an idea of what other schools are doing. KHS placed 12th out of 14. “Overall, I am very pleased with how we did,” said Assistant Band Director Paul Ailey. “I think that we need to do some more polishing but overall, I am very pleased with all of your hard work.” The drumline has continued to work hard in preparation for the October 15 Competition in Oklahoma..
