Ag Instructor takes on Floral Design
Floral Design is an agriculture class in which you learn the basics of floral arrangement. This class is currently being taught by Mr. Pieniazek, but hasn’t alway been.
When the class first started, it was actually taught by his wife, KHS Principal, Mrs. Pieniazek.
“I loved teaching floral design; as well as my other classes. . . the opportunity to explore color, design, and creativity through nature was unique and fun,” she reflected.
However, soon after she came to Krum, Mrs. Pieniazek advanced into an administrative position. Although she didn’t teach the class anymore, it was still in high demand.
That’s when Mr. Pieniazek stepped in and agreed to teach the class. He had taken a floral design class in college, but still relied heavily on his wife and other coworkers for help during the first few school years.
Over the years he has attended various workshops for the class to advance his own knowledge on the subject. Now he knows many different techniques and styles that you can use to arrange flowers.
“I'm not an expert by any means but I am able to convey the basics and give the students a start to floral design,” Mr. Pieniazek said.
