Former Cheerleader doubles as Mascot
Most people can name the cheerleaders that we see at the football and basketball games, but many people don’t know the person that is behind the mascot uniform; Bryson Farmer.
Bryson Farmer is a sophomore at Krum High School. She has been the mascot since her freshman year.
Bryson is a very crazy and loud person, which helps a lot when being the mascot.
“I decided to become the mascot because my family and friends told me I was a goofball and that I should do it,” Bryson said.
Bryson was a cheerleader in the second grade. She also has family members that are involved in cheerleading. Her aunt has been a cheerleading coach for 16 years, and all of her cousins are in competitive cheer.
While she dreads how hot it gets in the uniform, she is glad for the opportunity that she has had to meet new friends. Bryson’s favorite thing about being the mascot is “being a goofball and a dork and having a reason to do it.”
While Bryson has had a lot of fun in her two years as the varsity mascot, we will have to find a new mascot as Bryson has decided to stop cheering as of next year.
